Irish Water Customer Application Campaign

Irish Water is launching a national public awareness campaign today, Tuesday 19th August.

This is our first direct engagement with customers before water charges commence on 1st October.

The first phase of the customer application campaign will inform all households in Ireland to expect an Irish Water application pack in the post from September. This pack contains an application form (in English and Irish), an application guide (in English and Irish)  and a prepaid return addressed envelope.   All households should apply by 31st October 2014. The campaign messages will change in September to explain how and when to apply and in October to encourage response by the deadline.

By completing the application process it will help us to clarify if respondents are a customer of Irish Water, apply any water services allowances to which they may be entitled and to provide them with an accurate bill when billing starts in January 2015.

The application process can be completed in three ways:

1.            Web                      www.water.ie

2.            Telephone          LoCall 1890 448 448 or +353 1 7072824, lines are open from 8am - 8pm, 7 days a week

3.            Post                       Complete the application form and return it in the prepaid envelope provided in the pack

This is a fully integrated public information campaign designed to reach all households through the following media; TV, radio, press and digital advertising as well as social media. The TV advertising is planned to launch today and will run until the end of August.  You can view it first during the ad break of the RTÉ 9 o’clock news tonight.

Customer queries should be referred to the Irish Water Customer Contact Centre at 1890 278278.
